Avengineering revolves around projects. Our members play an active role in the direction of the club and we welcome your input and collaboration. Team leaders will be appointed for every competition or project based on experience, availability, and interest. If you have an idea for a competition or a project that you'd like us to collaborate on, get our attention. If you have an idea for a cool hands-on demonstration, we'll give you the floor. You got into UCLA because someone saw the potential in you to do great things, why not start now?
In addition to projects, we are forming a partnership with The Exploratory in Culver City. In exchange for contributing to their program, by either helping them teach kids, by filling out their manpower and helping around the shop, they have offered to open up their space to us for free when they aren't hosting scheduled lessons, if we can make their workshop a focal point for tinkering in LA.
As part of our partnership with The Exploratory, we will have the opportunity to volunteer and have access to the resources at the maker space:

Our current project is the Mechanical Spider.
Avengineering is a new maker club dedicated to tinkering, giving students a jumping off point to learn new skills, and collaborating on a series of large-scale projects.
We are for the tinkerers who have fun building. Avengineering is for anyone with a drive to make something awesome—anyone handy with a toolbox, a paintbrush, or an idea. We want to expand beyond the theories taught in lecture and bridge the gap between the Sciences and the Arts to keep the passion for learning alive.
